So I just got accepted to play for Indie Week Toronto 2006 - very exciting! Friday, October 13th at 9:15pm @ the Drake (1150 Queen St W, just east of Dufferin). It'll be a night full of hot new indie acts - we're first on the billing. www.indieweek.com
Of course, the purpose of the Toronto Indie Week is to showcase up and coming Canadian and international indie acts - bands trying to make it without the benefit of a major record deal. This is, however, some sort of a competition - I think that all the acts are judged on their live performance. Any musician will tell you what a difference it makes playing to a full house, so your support would be very much appreciated! See you then!!

Thanks to everyone who has been coming out and supporting our live shows over the past few months. The show last Friday at the Free Times Cafe was a huge success! Thanks to the Canaries for opening and my apologies to everyone who got turned away at the door for lack of room. If you missed us, though, we will be live on Tuesday, September 26th at C'est What at 10:15pm - the show promises to be a good one, with a couple new faces in the band...
See you then!

Check out my new MySpace page (I'm told all the coolest musicians have one), www.myspace.com/ainsleymcneaney.
I have - finally! - uploaded the new tracks we recorded in Banff in March to the music page. Enjoy and let me know what you think - I am always open to feedback. Thanks again to those wonderful Banff musicians for playing, and to Jared Miller and Jeong Seon Choi for their super engineering.
Also, check us out live at the Red Guitar (603 Markham St in Mirvish Village) on June 13th @ 7pm and 8pm. We will be doing two different sets of mostly original music - cover will be $5. More shows in the works, keeping checking back here and often!

Just found out that I will be heading back to Banff on Saturday to complete a professional studio-recording of a few of the songs featured on Live in Banff! I am very excited to get back into the studio and to work once more with the fabulous musicians I met in Banff. Check back in a few weeks to hear how it all turned out!

I am very excited to welcome you to my new web site! This project has been in works for some time now, and I am more than delighted with how it has all turned out.
First off, it needs to be said that my very non-tech-savvy self could never have done this alone… My super web guru Kyla Perry, who has been a very good friend of mine since high school, is responsible for basically everything you are seeing here; I will be forever grateful to her for helping me overcome that daunting technical hurdle.
Also, many thanks go to Jorge Chaves, whose photographic prowess would have made even Helmut Newton bow down before his lens.
Check out the friends page for more people I like; and if you’d like to be my friend, too, or if you have any feedback about the site, visit the contact page.
Many of you know that I spent the fall in residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts – the live recording from the performance I gave there on December 5th can be heard on the music page. It should also be mentioned here that I am so obliged to all of the people who played with me for this performance – they are an extremely talented group of professionals and you can find their names listed on the music page. As well, coming soon to the music page are piano/vocal versions of a few of the songs, recorded in Banff on December 6th by Brian Heller. Check out the live page for upcoming gigs and – something completely different – the percussion page for future percussion-only engagements.
Hope you enjoy your visit – come back soon and tell your friends!
